About the Author
Robert G. Rehs has devoted his life to understanding how everyday choices shape long-term health, faith, and personal transformation. With more than forty years of professional experience in the retail food industry, he has witnessed firsthand the dramatic changes in the modern diet—the rise of heavily processed foods, refined sugars, industrial oils, and convenience-driven eating habits—and the devastating impact these shifts have had on individuals, families, and communities. This front-row perspective ignited a lifelong passion to explore the deeper causes of chronic illness and metabolic dysfunction.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management, educational paths that strengthened his analytical thinking, leadership abilities, and passion for communicating complex ideas in practical, understandable ways. Combined with decades of experience in the food industry, these skills uniquely equipped him to bridge the gap between scientific research, spiritual truth, and everyday application.
Robert’s pursuit of health became deeply personal through his own journey of overcoming physical challenges and searching for lasting answers beyond symptom management. Through years of study, research, and practical application, he immersed himself in the work of leading voices in metabolic health and functional wellness, including Benjamin Bikman, whose research on insulin resistance reshaped modern understanding of chronic disease, and Ben Lynch, whose work on genetics and lifestyle demonstrates how inherited weaknesses can often be influenced through nutrition, environment, and healthy living.
In addition to his academic background, Robert completed certified biblical training through the Word of Faith Bible Institute, where he deepened his understanding of Scripture, faith, prayer, healing, and the believer’s identity in Christ. This training further shaped his passion for teaching practical biblical truths that strengthen faith and encourage believers to trust in God’s promises.
At the center of Robert’s message is his Christian faith. He believes true healing involves spirit, soul, and body working together in alignment with God’s design. Guided by Scripture, he embraces the truth that the human body is “the temple of the Holy Spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:19, AMP) and that caring for the body is both a stewardship responsibility and an act of worship. His writings frequently emphasize God’s nature as loving, merciful, and restorative, revealing healing not merely as a physical process, but as part of God’s redemptive purpose for mankind.
Robert also believes that God still performs miracles today and remains willing to move on behalf of those who seek Him in faith. While he deeply values scientific research, nutritional understanding, and practical lifestyle changes, he believes there are moments when human knowledge and medical science reach their limits. In those moments, he points readers to the hope found in Jesus Christ—the One who healed the sick, restored the broken, and demonstrated the compassion and power of God throughout the Gospels. Robert believes that through Christ, God has provided not only forgiveness and redemption, but also hope, restoration, peace, and divine intervention for those who call upon Him.
Through his Understanding series and the Faith series of books and teachings, Robert combines biblical principles, health research, Greek and Hebrew word studies, and practical lifestyle guidance to encourage readers to renew both mind and body. His mission is to help people discover that many chronic conditions associated with metabolic dysfunction are not necessarily permanent life sentences, but conditions that may be improved—and in many cases reversed—through informed choices, disciplined habits, faith, forgiveness, renewed thinking, prayer, and consistent action.
At the same time, he encourages readers never to lose hope when answers seem out of reach. Robert believes that God’s grace, mercy, and healing power still work in the lives of believers today, and that no situation is beyond the reach of Christ. His work continually points readers toward both practical wisdom and spiritual hope, reminding them that transformation often begins with small, faithful steps and trust in the One who still works miracles.
Robert is passionate about empowering ordinary people with knowledge, hope, and practical tools that help them reclaim their health, strengthen their faith, and live with renewed purpose. His work encourages readers to pursue wisdom, take responsibility for their well-being, and trust that transformation often begins with small, faithful steps repeated consistently over time.
He is the author of Understanding Your Genes, Understanding Metabolic Dysfunction and Chronic Illness: A Layman’s Guide, and multiple books and teaching resources in the Faith series, all written with the goal of helping readers better understand the connection between God’s design, human health, healing, and purposeful living.
