Derek Danforth

Derek Danforth has always been fascinated by the space where truth and cinema meet. Growing up, he wasn’t content just watching movies he wanted to know the real stories that inspired them, the lives behind the characters, and the history reshaped by Hollywood’s imagination. That curiosity became his lifelong passion.

Through his series Fact vs. Film, Derek explores the true events behind the screen, separating fact from fiction and honoring the people whose real lives sparked unforgettable stories. His goal is simple: to give readers a deeper appreciation of the truth behind the movies and to reveal that sometimes, reality is more powerful than anything written for the screen.
