Ayse Kortun

Dr Ayse Kortun is a Doctor of Engineering who enjoys making engineering fun for children. She is originally from the beautiful island of Cyprus and now calls Belfast, Northern Ireland home, where she lives with her husband and two sons. She received her PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Queen’s University Belfast in 2012.

With a deep passion for education, Ayse inspires hundreds of young minds every day, bringing energy, curiosity, and encouragement into the classroom. As an engineer, educator, mother, and children’s book author, Dr Kortun believes that the journey into engineering should start early in life.

Her mission is to ignite curiosity and creativity from the earliest age, showing children that the world of engineering is deeply connected to the wonders they see every day.
