Michelle Manning

Michelle Manning was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 9, 1980, under a Libra sun and Libra moon, with a cosmic mix of Sagittarius and Gemini shaping her edges. She has lived in a small town in South Carolina since the age of two, rooted deeply in her mother’s side of the family and the stories that come with long memories and shared history.

All of her children are grown now, and one of her greatest joys is being “Lala” to three beautiful little girls—her grandbabies—who remind her daily why stories matter.

By day, Michelle works as a retail banker. By night (and in every spare moment she can steal), she writes novels or relentlessly brainstorms the next one. She is the author of five books, including her most ambitious work to date, topping 775 pages. Her writing lives at the crossroads of romance, tragedy, dark comedy, sci-fi, and true-crime–inspired thrillers—fiction rooted in emotional truth, flawed people, and the quiet chaos of being human.

When she isn’t writing or working, Michelle can usually be found deep inside simulation games like The Sims 4, City Skylines, or InZoi. She loves thrifting, cold beer, and sitting around telling stories—whether they’re about family, friends, a late-night Walmart run, a questionable trip to a convenience store, or the moment someone finally learned a lesson they should’ve understood twenty years earlier.

Big stories. Small stories. Messy ones. Funny ones. Painful ones. Michelle loves telling them—and just as much, listening to them.
