Author and Illustrator Sandra Lubchenko

From a young age, my love for art and storytelling was clear, I eagerly wrote and painted throughout my school years. My passions led me to major in elementary education with a focus on illustration, launching a rewarding 33-year career as a teacher. After retiring, my creativity flourished, resulting in the self-publication of an adult novel, and nine illustrated children's books, with my tenth on the way. My books blend my enthusiasm for science, art, and social studies bringing fascinating animals - like Ball Pythons, Black Vultures, Gopher Tortoises, Capybaras, and Alpacas- to life through engaging stories and fun facts for readers of all ages. The illustrations are bright and colorful and incorporate my detailed style. My adult novel, set in 1939-1948, begins in eastern Poland (now Ukraine) and follows John and Julia as they face adversity, lose their freedom, and find the courage to rebuild their lives with hope and promise. Dive into my stories to discover adventure and learning. Let them be an inspiration that allows you to be a life-long learner!
