Having worked in publishing my entire adult life, I still regard myself as an editor first and foremost. The fact that I’ve been fortunate enough to write books and have them published, too, is simply the best thing ever. As an editor, I specialise in non-fiction books for children and adults, with a keen interest in natural history, science and prehistoric life.
As a reader, I enjoy all genres of fiction and non-fiction. I love a thriller with a shocking twist that only reveals itself at the very last chapter, or even page. I’m a sucker for classic horror, and I adore an agonising love story. But, in all honesty, pretty much anything goes.
As an author, my true passion lies in writing natural history subjects for children. The plant and animal kingdoms are a never-ending source of wonder for me, so I’m sure that kids’ minds must be blown by some of the incredible creatures we share our world with. If I can pass on just a snippet of information to inspire new readers, I will be happy. There is still so much we don’t know about, from bizarre dinosaur species to new kinds of mammals that are still being discovered – and they all deserve a book of their own.
