John Steakley

So, this is John Steakley. He was born in Dallas, then moved to Huntsville, and now he’s been in Birmingham long enough that people just assume he’s from there. He went to The University of Alabama and then Beeson Divinity School because apparently one degree wasn’t enough to figure out life.

John walked through his own mess with addiction and thought, “Hey, maybe I can help other people not do it the hard way.” So he started Unbound Grace in 2018. Now he’s a pastoral counselor, which basically means people tell him their problems and he tries really hard not to look surprised.

He’s married, has two daughters who run the house, and a dog named Bear who thinks he’s a therapy dog. Together, they’re all just trying to live their lives, trust God, and help people find hope, one honest conversation at a time.
