Matthew Check

Matthew Check is a musician and now debut memoirist whose work has been featured in Billboard, PopMatters, and Americana UK. Originally from Newtown, Pennsylvania, he spent nearly two decades in New York City before making Cincinnati his home.

A versatile artist, Matt has performed with the Emmy-nominated Gangstagrass, blending genres and pushing creative boundaries.

He is the author of What Would Philip Roth Do?—an irreverent, funny, and deeply human coming-of-age memoir set in mid-2000s New York, exploring identity, ambition, and the pursuit of art.
