Mick Randall

Mick has spent the past 46 years investigating organised criminal activity on a global basis, focusing mainly on Russian, Eastern European and South East Asian organised crime groups.

He joined the Metropolitan Police in 1979 (aged 18) and following a mandatory period in uniform walking the beat in North London, he was made a detective in January 1984 (aged 23).

Following postings across North, East and South London, including a role with New Scotland Yard’s legendary Flying Squad (The Sweeney), Mick was seconded on to the Regional Crime Squad (RCS), which later became the National Crime Squad (NCS).

In 2000, Mick was appointed to lead one of the operation teams at the newly formed National Hi-Tech Crime Unit, which led the UK’s innovative response to global hi-tech threats targeting the UK, including phishing, botnets and Trojan-deployed malware.

In 2006, Mick joined the Crime Techniques Department of the newly formed Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA, now NCA).

Following his retirement from law enforcement in 2009, he joined the UK's Serious Fraud Office (SFO), and was the Case Manager for the investigation into the collapse of the Icelandic bank Kaupthing.

Mick then moved into the banking arena for seven years (Retail and Corporate & Investment) investigating fraud and corruption concerns before founding his own private investigation firm, Fedora Investigations.
