Doris A Gast

Doris A. Gast was born in Gary, Indiana and currently lives in Michigan City, Indiana. Her parents were born and raised in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Kentucky. She spent many happy times in Kentucky during summers, playing and helping out on her grandfather’s farm with her six brothers and sister. She graduated from Portage High School. After she graduated from High School and married she enlisted in the United States Army and served four and a half years, first in Alabama and finally in Darmstadt, Germany. Doris worked for thirty-seven years for the State of Indiana. She is the mother of seven children, five boys and two girls and the grandmother to twelve grandchildren, six boys and six girls. In July she became the great-grandmother to a beautiful great-grandson.
