Writing has always been as essential as breathing to me; I feel incomplete without a pen close at hand. For years, I worked in the nonprofit world as a writer and editor, then ran my own stationery boutique in Chicago. But writing fiction kept calling my name, and that led to my first novel, Love on Paper.
Fun fact: I first published under the pen name Sarah Madelin - a play on my middle name - because my fairly common legal name was already taken. Yet soon after, I began wishing I had used my beloved grandma's surnames - Wright Reed - instead. A lifelong word nerd, I always thought her name was clever and cute. Plus, we were so close! Why hadn't I used my pen name to honor her? After three years as Sarah Madelin, I followed my heart and changed my pen name to Sarah Wright Reed.
My women's fiction and rom-com novels blend humor and heart with a healthy dose of romance. My characters are learning to own their journeys and embrace love: for their families, their communities, their partners, and themselves. I hope you'll love them as much as I do.
