M.A. Stellen

M.A. Stellen grew up in Chesterton, Indiana, where his imagination took hold early and never let go. As a grade school student, he won the Young Authors Contest, a moment that quietly set the course for a lifelong creative drive. That mindset never faded, even as life moved through years of both blue collar and white collar work. Drawing from those experiences, Stellen discovered that every job, every place, and every person added another layer to the stories building in his mind. Today, he channels that perspective into creating immersive worlds that offer readers a place to escape, reflect, and feel something real.

Stellen writes across multiple genres, including horror, mystery, and paranormal fiction, often grounding his stories in the familiar streets, landscapes, and atmosphere of Northwest Indiana, especially in and around his hometown of Chesterton. His work blends tension, emotion, and realism, creating stories that feel both unsettling and deeply human. While much of his writing explores darker themes, he is not limited by genre and continues to expand creatively, including a romance novel that is set for release in the near future.

Outside of writing, Stellen is a lighting director for live music venues and concerts, shaping atmosphere through shadow, color, and movement.
