Lisa Orris

Lisa Orris has experienced deep grief. For over 20 years, she has walked with people through all kinds of pain, giving them permission to feel. She is the founder of Grief Guide, a nonprofit organization dedicated to guiding people, organizations, companies, and communities through grief. Lisa’s work has gained her recognition in her local community where she was recently named one of McHenry County, IL Women of Distinction in 2023. Lisa is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Covenant Church.

Lisa holds a Master of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary. She spent her undergraduate years at Gannon University earning a degree in Criminology. Lisa has presented on the county level at the People in Need Forum, Community Connection Summit, and most recently, at the Psychiatric Nurses Association (IL) at Roosevelt University.

She is married to Bill, the chaplain at Northern Illinois Recovery Center, and has three children: Billy with the LORD, Lauren, and Michael. Her big joys in life are twin grandsons, Micah and Malachi, and baby Theo. When she is not writing, speaking, or guiding people, Lisa loves to take long walks, linger by the lake, and enjoys good Italian food!
