Her multiple award-winning novel Song of Hummingbird Highway — a Next Generation Indie Book Award finalist, and recognized by the Firebird Book Award, the Literary Titan 4-Star Award, and the Four Seasons Book Awards — blends Caribbean culture, Garifuna drums, Mayan cosmology, and 125 songs into a literary experience that challenges Western narratives and celebrates authentic cultural voices.

A certified True Colors communication facilitator and growth-mindset expert, she speaks at national conferences on leadership, resilience, and women's empowerment. Her work has appeared in Creative Nursing and Career Education Review, and she holds a master's degree in interdisciplinary studies — integrating writing, leadership, and business — and a UCLA certificate in creative writing.

When not curating Spotify playlists or leading workshops, Cookie hosts "Sparkle Parties" — experiential events where attendees create sparkle messages in bottles.
