Tom Beaudin

Tom Beaudin was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and raised in the neighboring town of Farmington. From an early age, he displayed a deep curiosity about the world around him and a particular aptitude for mathematics, a subject that would shape much of his professional life.

Tom earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Fairfield University and went on to complete a Master of Science in Mathematics Education from the University of Bridgeport. His passion for learning and teaching led him to a long and meaningful career in education. For 36 years, Tom devoted himself to teaching high school mathematics. Yet, inspiring generations of students to understand numbers and appreciate their beauty and logic was always Tom’s secondary goal. When often asked what he taught, his prioritized answer was always simply, “Students.”

Alongside his career in education, Tom also worked as a part-time renovation contractor, a pursuit that reflected his hands-on skills and his enjoyment of creating and improving the spaces around him. After decades of service in the classroom, he retired from teaching in 2000 — though his love of learning and creating never slowed down.

In 1965, Tom married his lifelong partner, Marlene. Together they built a family rooted in love, faith, and strong Christian values. They are the proud parents of two sons and one daughter, and their family has since grown to include eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren — each a new blessing and source of joy.

In addition to his educational and family achievements, Tom is the author of the Timmy Dennison book series, where his creativity and storytelling come to life. Through his writing, Tom continues to share his imagination, faith, and sense of wonder with readers of all ages.

A man of integrity, faith, and dedication, Tom’s life reflects a steadfast commitment to God, family, education, and service — a legacy that continues to touch lives across generations.
