Michael Tackett

Mike Tackett is a lifelong entrepreneur, storyteller, and adventurer. He has spent decades building companies in real estate, renewable energy, and retail electricity. His career has taken him from diving for freshwater shells in the Tennessee River to developing utility-scale wind and solar projects in Texas.

In 2024, Mike and his wife Joanne set out aboard their 39-foot yacht Patience to complete America’s Great Loop, a 6,000-mile waterway journey through the heart of the United States and Canada. The voyage reshaped his understanding of time, identity, marriage, and the joy of chasing dreams. Blue Mind, Bold Heart is his first book, blending memoir, reflection, and adventure.

Mike and Joanne live in Abilene, Texas, where they continue to share stories, music, and a love of water.
