Adrienne Turner

Adrienne Turner is a veteran educator and instructional leader who focuses her work on helping teachers thrive so that students can flourish. Over the course of 18 years in education, she has served as an a Title I elementary school tutor, high school and middle school color guard instructor, fourth-grade teacher, reading specialist, instructional technology coach, new teacher coordinator, and curriculum coordinator. Adrienne currently serves as the English language arts coordinator for Deer Creek School District in Edmond, Oklahoma, where she supports educators in the areas of instruction, assessment, wellness, new teacher development, and instructional technology.

Adrienne has helped lead districtwide initiatives, including the implementation of standards-referenced reporting, and she regularly plans and facilitates professional learning for teachers at all stages of their careers. As an associate for Solution Tree and Marzano Resources, she presents nationally on topics such as educator wellness, beginning teacher support, instructional strategies using the New Art and Science of Teaching. Her contributions also extend to published work; as a member of the Deer Creek Schools team, which is credited in Leading Standards-Based Learning: An Implementation Guide for Schools and Districts, she helped develop many of the practical tools, templates, and reproducibles included in the book, a resource widely used by educators.

In addition to her district and associate roles, Adrienne serves as the producer of Dr. Tina H. Boogren’s weekly podcast, Self-Care for Educators.

Adrienne holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Education in Reading from the University of Central Oklahoma. She is certified as a reading specialist in grades Pre-K–12 and is a Level 1 Certified High Reliability Teacher.
