Janet Flecher

Janet is a lifelong artist and emerging literary voice whose work bridges visual art, poetry, memoir, and fiction. Her writing explores identity, survival, and emotional transformation with minimalist precision and mythic undertones. A direct witness to foundational neurobiology research in gender identity, Janet brings scientific insight and personal truth to her storytelling.

Her debut novel, Sandra Lynn, Beginnings, offers a poignant portrait of trans girlhood—told with restraint, clarity, and courage. Janet’s literary mission is to connect art and healing, truth and legacy, for trans readers and allies alike.

Janet writes from a deep reservoir of personal experience, having transitioned herself over 35 years ago. Janet resides with her wife of almost 50 years, 3 1/2 cats (don't ask), and her Golden Retriever in the desert of Southern California. Janet has recently retired from a career as an artist is best known for the furniture she has designed and built, and as a lapidary artist and silversmith.

Janet is currently completing the third book of the Sandra Lynn series, an additional standalone novel entitled Destiny's Child, a book of poetry entitled Trans Emotions, and her Memoir entitled Journeys.
