Dr Joel A Nelson

Dr. Joel A. Nelson served God and the church full-time in seven different positions and geographic locations over his 44 year career. He was a teacher, school principal, director of family ministry, and director of youth and adult discipleship in churches ranging in size from 120 to 2,800 people. He also held two executive positions in his church body's international headquarters. Though his ministry was diverse, there was a universal thread. Every place Dr. Nelson served he was also involved with Sunday school ministry in one way or another: teacher, superintendent, youth ministry director, national church body executive providing services and support, and always an advocate. Of all the diverse ministry activities he engaged in, Sunday school was the thing he most loved doing. Dr. Nelson has learned a lot about how to create and sustain a winning Sunday school ministry.
