Dark Monarch, known off the page as Damir, writes dark supernatural fiction shaped by atmosphere, emotion, and the uneasy spaces between people. His fascination with the uncanny began early, sparked by a childhood encounter with a moving shadow in his great-grandmother’s house — a moment that stayed with him long before he had words for it.

Before publishing fiction, Damir worked as a TV and radio host, learning how to listen closely, observe human behavior, and tell stories that feel alive. That background informs his writing today, where characters and emotional tension take precedence over shock or spectacle.

He writes in English to reach readers worldwide, especially those drawn to the strange, the raw, and the unexplained. When he’s not writing, he can usually be found cycling through the Croatian countryside, exploring old castles, taking photographs, or spending time with his dog and cat.

As an indie author, he believes in creating without permission — and in giving a voice to stories that once lived only in the dark.
