Robert Morris Cooper

Robert Cooper is an 81-year-old ex-oil executive. The inspiration for writing a western was in his roots. For example, his grandfather Cooper, born in 1881, was a hard-as-nails, Western Kansas farmer who worked with horses and mules, and his great-grandfather broke horses for a living from Kansas to Wyoming. His father built a sizable cattle operation in the heart of Kansas’ cattle country, known for having more cattle than people, and home to a historic rodeo. At about age ten, he saw real-life cowboys on horseback in downtown Cottonwood Falls, KS, and was awestruck. When older, during his father’s cattle roundups, he worked alongside local “for hire” and rodeo cowboys. He surprised his family when, as they claimed, he “sold out” to the corporate oil industry. So, this book may be his attempt at redemption
