Antonio Puliafito

Antonio Puliafito is Full Professor of Computer Engineering at the University of Messina, where he leads a large research group and has authored over 400 publications. He has supervised numerous Master theses and more than 20 PhD students, and serves on committees of major conferences such as IEEE SmartComp, Valuetools, NCA and I-Things, as well as editorial boards including Sensors (MDPI) and IEEE TDSC. He is ranked 4th worldwide for individual productivity in cloud computing.

He has held key academic roles, including Rector’s Delegate for ICT, coordinator of degree, master and PhD programs, and co-founder of the spin-off SmartMe. Awards include the CISCO ICT Innovation Award and the G7 Transport Prize.

His project leadership spans major FP7, PRIN, PON and Horizon initiatives on cloud, distributed systems, IoT, and cyber-physical systems. His research focuses on distributed computing, performance and reliability analysis, wireless/IoT, and cloud/GRID architectures, with several influential books in the field.
