Mike Calder

Mike Calder learned early that the world rewards the brave. He grew up in multiple countries. Nothing stayed still for long, and neither did he in his earlier profession as an award-winning chef. But everything changed the first time he stood in the African bush and felt the land look back at him. That moment didn’t just catch his attention. It claimed him.

He trained as a guide in South Africa, surrounded by people who seemed to speak the language of the wild with effortless fluency. He started as the outsider. He stayed because the work demanded truth, grit, and purpose. Over time, he moved from student to partner, working beside conservation teams, anti poaching units, and communities fighting to protect what cannot be replaced.

Today, Mike leads retreats for people who want transformation, not tourism. He is an avid photographer and has been globally Exhibited and has donated images for use in anti poaching campaigns in Southern Africa. Everywhere he goes, he carries one conviction. You cannot help protect the wild unless you understand its story.

His writing comes straight from the wild. Quiet paths where elephants drift like old spirits. The sharp clarity that arrives when you have no choice but to trust your instincts. Mike tells these stories to remind readers that purpose is not theory. It is lived. It is earned. And once it finds you, it changes what you are willing to fight for.
