Makadini! My name is Vongai, and I'm on a mission to keep the Shona language alive and accessible for the next generation. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, I know the power of language to connect us to our identity and our families.

That's why my mother and I created these children's books, to give little ones a fun, colorful entry point into learning Shona. It's been a true labor of love, created in collaboration with my mom, combining her passion for teaching with my love of storytelling. It’s my hope that these stories will not only teach words but also foster a sense of pride and cultural connection.
