Hello everyone,
I’ve been getting quite a few messages recently about my books. I’ve now written and published three, and people have been asking things like where I get my ideas from, and whether the content ever bothers me.
Well, I actually wrote my first book over 30 years ago. Looking back, it was longer than it needed to be, and if I’m honest, it wasn’t very good. I tried to get it published but didn’t get anywhere. So I started again, and this time people seem to like what I’ve written.
As for where the ideas come from, I wish I knew. They just seem to pop into my head. I’ll sit in front of the computer and it all starts to come out. Not quite as easy as that, but you get the idea.
My first book, The Blue Rose Killer, started years ago. It follows a serial killer who leaves his mark with a blue rose tattoo. From there, I moved on to Justice in Blood, which focuses on a killer delivering his own version of justice to those he believes escaped it. Then came The Red Rose Killings, which is quite different, still a serial killer story, but with more twists and a very clever, sophisticated antagonist. I’ll let you discover the rest for yourselves.
I have also published the book 4 the Moonlight Robberies, and half way though book 5.
People also ask if writing this kind of material affects me, does it bother me, give me nightmares. Honestly, no. Not at all. When you look at the films people watch, or the things reported in the news, what I write isn’t any worse. I’m just putting it into a story.
At the end of the day, I write because I enjoy it. It’s a hobby. I’m not doing it for profit, just for the love of storytelling.
And it’s not all about crime. Across the books, the same police team, Brooke, Owen, Tillie and Adina, carry through the series. They grow closer with each case, becoming more like a family. That side of it is just as important to me.
As for what’s next, yes, there will be a fourth book. It’s likely to be called The Moonlight Robberies, and I’m hoping to have it out this summer.
The books have been selling well, which I’m really pleased about, especially considering I had no previous experience. So I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has bought and supported them. I hope you’ve enjoyed the read.
And if you have read them, please don’t forget to leave a review. I’ll admit, I used to forget to do that myself, but now I realise just how important it really is.
Thanks again, and keep reading.
