Michael Kulwiec

Michael Kulwiec writes stories where imagination and courage meet curiosity and heart. His debut middle-grade novel, Island of the Angry Smile, blends adventure, mystery, and science as it follows three siblings who discover that bravery often grows in unexpected places.

When he is not writing, Michael helps scientists and educators share their ideas through his creative studio, DesignLab. He lives in San Diego, California, with his wife Pam, where new stories are often sparked by questions, conversations, and the occasional gummy.
