RAJ SARKAR

Raj Sarkar was born on 10th of January, 2002 in Kolkata in a Christian family and is a debut author. He completed his entire schooling from St. James’ School, Kolkata and had always prepared to be an author. He started working on his first book, ‘The Whispering Town - Are You Afraid Of Vampires?’ in June, 2023, immediately after graduating in English and completed writing his manuscript in March, 2024, while simultaneously pursuing his Master’s degree in English from Techno India University which he completed in May, 2025.

He strongly believes that he has inherited his love for the horror genre from his paternal side and was always fascinated by the dark from his childhood. In the final semester of his post-graduation, he had even provided a thesis for his Master’s degree on Gothic Literature and how acting against the laws of nature and its resulting negative consequences provides as its central theme.

His cherished authors include Ruskin Bond, R. L. Stine, and Robin Cook while his favourite movie directors are the renowned Bollywood filmmaker, Vikram Bhatt and the famous Hollywood filmmaker, Tim Burton.
