Kimani Nichell Haley

Kimani Haley is a bestselling children's book author, developmental editor, ghostwriter, and the founder and CEO of kNotED by Kimani LLC, a full-service writing, editing, and publishing services company. With more than two decades of experience in secondary English education (including her current role as English Department Chair at Marion-Franklin High School in Columbus, Ohio), Kimani brings a rare combination of academic rigor and authentic storytelling to everything she creates and edits.

Kimani holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education – Integrated Reading & Language Arts from Ohio University and a Master's degree in Education Administration from the University of Dayton, reflecting a career built on both the love of learning and the pursuit of leadership. Her professional expertise spans the entire writing process, from grammar and sentence structure to manuscript development and publication-ready polish.

As a children's book author, Kimani is best known for her Nia series, a heartfelt, four-book collection that speaks directly to the experiences of blended families. Titles include “He's Not Your Dad”, “I Hate Father's Day”, “Your Mom Is So Nice”, and “Oh, Brother! Merry Christmas!” — stories born from her own lived experience growing up in a blended family. She is also the creator of “A Mighty Warrior's Journal of Healing and Strength”, a guided journal for breast cancer survivors and warriors navigating one of life's toughest seasons.

Through her expanding brand, kNotED by Kimani, she serves authors at every stage (from manuscript review and ghostwriting to copyediting and publishing guidance) with a mission to help every writer's voice shine clearly on the page. When she isn't writing, editing, or teaching, Kimani is cheering on her daughter Khari, a debut children's book author in her own right, and pouring into the next generation of writers, one student (and one manuscript) at a time.
