Hello, and thank you so much for taking the time to check out my author page.
I’m a domiciliary care worker with over seven years’ experience working on the frontline of care. Throughout my career, I’ve supported people in their own homes, learning very quickly that no two days and no two calls are ever the same. Care is a job that teaches you on the go, often in ways no training manual can prepare you for.
I wrote Care Plans, Chaos & Cold Tea to give an honest, real-life insight into what working in care is actually like behind closed doors. The stories in this book are based on lived experience and are told with humour, honesty, and respect for the people at the heart of the job. Some names and details have been changed to protect privacy, but the moments, lessons, and emotions are real.
Care work is challenging, messy, emotional, and often exhausting — but it’s also full of humanity, unexpected laughter, and moments that stay with you long after the shift ends. This book is for fellow carers who will recognise themselves in these pages, and for anyone who wants to understand what really happens once the door closes.
I continue to work in care and write about the realities of frontline life as it truly is — not how it looks on paper, in care plans, or on rotas. If you’ve ever worked in care, know someone who does, or are simply curious about the world behind the scenes, I hope my writing resonates with you.
Thank you again for being here and for supporting my work.
