Alex Maltsev

Alexander “Alex” Maltsev was born in the USSR and moved to China alone at the age of ten as part of a language exchange program.

Although he holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, Alex has been building digital projects since his teenage years. Over the years, some of his projects received international recognition and industry awards.

He began practicing capoeira at nineteen and started teaching at twenty-four, becoming one of the early pioneers of this Afro-Brazilian art in China. His students now teach in several Chinese cities, and his writing on capoeira has reached tens of thousands of readers.

Alex has worked in major international internet companies, led multicultural teams, and built projects at the intersection of technology, education, and culture. Today, he runs his own company and continues to teach, write, and create.

In his work and writing, Alex explores how the principles of long-term practice, discipline, and learning apply not only to capoeira, but also to work, leadership, and everyday life.
