Sherief Elsayed

Sherief Elsayed is a British consultant spinal surgeon based in Dubai. He writes The Adventures of Laith with his son, Laith.

The books began at bedtime. Laith wanted stories where he was the hero, so his father started writing them down: magic trains, daring rescues and friends who look after each other. Now they write them together, and they keep the words kind, because children copy what they hear.

When he isn't writing with Laith, Sherief operates on complex spines, teaches surgeons around the world and is International Editor of Miller's Review of Orthopaedics. He has also volunteered on surgical missions from Ethiopia to Cox's Bazar.
