David X. Cook is a retired 20-year military Law Enforcement Officer who spent nearly half his career serving overseas and the other half stationed across the United States. After years of living inside briefings, breaking news, and political crossfire, he found himself just as frustrated by the modern media storm as everyone else. Instead of giving up on staying informed, he began quietly building tools to read the news more calmly, test what he was seeing, and keep difficult conversations from wrecking relationships.

Those tools eventually became The Sane Read series; a field guide, companion workbook, and a 365-day journal designed to help ordinary people stay informed without burning out. A husband, father, and man of faith, David X. Cook lives in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he writes with a simple goal: to give readers a calm, repeatable way to step out of the outrage cycle while still showing up as engaged, thoughtful neighbors and citizens.
