Gemma Parker is an award-winning poet and essayist with a PhD in Language and Literature and First Class Honours in Political Science. She has lived and worked in London, Paris, Hanoi and Osaka, and is now based on unceded Kaurna land in Adelaide, South Australia, with her family. She speaks French and English and teaches creative nonfiction at Adelaide University. Gemma’s creative-critical memoir The Mother is Restless and She Doesn’t Know Why (Scribner, 2026) is her first book.
