Amy-Adele RICHARDSON

I write from the place you hesitate to cross. At the time of writing this I happened to be a 48 year old debut Australian horror-drama writer whose first work has explored what happens at the edge of breaking—when grief, fear, and love press up against the point of no return. My first book- ‘Threshold ‘ reflects my fascination with liminal spaces: the moments between safety and danger, life and loss, the known and the unspoken.

I write horror grounded in emotional truth. My stories are shaped by lived experience, deep empathy, and years spent caring for others, witnessing how trauma settles quietly into everyday life. In Threshold, the horror isn’t loud or sudden—it seeps in, rooted in memory, absence, and the things we carry long after we believe we’ve survived them.

I’m drawn to characters standing on the brink, forced to confront what they’ve buried and what they’re afraid to cross into. My work blends psychological tension with intimate drama, using atmosphere and restraint to explore how easily the familiar can become unsettling.

When I’m not writing, I care for family and find inspiration in silence, observation, and the stories people rarely say aloud. Threshold is my debut novel, with book 2, not far behind and book 3 already in progress, bringing a brilliant series together. I am also currently pursuing traditional publication.
