Melissa Buras

Melissa Buras is a former CEO turned part time working homeschool mom, entrepreneur, and writer with a heart for encouraging parents on their homeschooling journey. After spending sixteen years climbing the corporate ladder and later transitioning into the financial services industry, Melissa felt God calling her into a new season — one centered on home, family, and faith.

What began as an unexpected shift during the 2020 pandemic became a life changing calling. Melissa now homeschools her children while running her own transcription business, My Spoken Project, and uses her experiences to inspire other parents who are navigating the beautiful, messy, purpose filled world of homeschooling.

Known for her warm, conversational style and her honest storytelling, Melissa writes to remind parents that they are capable, equipped, and never alone. Her passion is helping families build strong relationships, embrace flexibility, and follow God’s leading with courage — even when the path looks different from what they imagined.

Melissa lives in Louisiana with her husband and children, where they are building a family culture rooted in faith, connection, and a whole lot of heart.
