Bob Story better known as Bobby Joe to His Family, is 40, born and raised in Florida, where the sticky heat, crashing thunderstorms, and quiet backroads gave root to an imagination that has always run a little too wild. Even as he faced personal demons and hard trials throughout his life, the stories in his head refused to stay silent. For years they lived only in notebooks, half-finished files, and late-night scribbles he never showed anyone.
In his late thirties, after a lifetime of carrying those visions alone, he made a deliberate choice: he moved to Tennessee to be closer to family and to finally give those imaginations a voice beyond himself. That relocation marked the beginning of his journey as a published writer.
His debut novel, Erase Me, is a chilling middle-grade horror story about a cursed chalkboard in a small Alabama elementary school that doesn’t just remember names—it erases them, piece by piece, until nothing remains but perfect, empty smiles.
His short-story collection, The Mirror That Eats Faces, explores the dark consequences of supernatural childhood games and rituals—when Bloody Mary actually answers, when the Midnight Man comes inside, when the reflection stops blinking last.
Drawing from his own battles and the strange beauty of survival, he writes tales that linger in the quiet spaces between fear and forgetting. When not writing, he can be found wandering Tennessee’s backroads, collecting old mirrors (he swears none of them talk back), or listening for the faint sound of chalk on slate in empty rooms.
