Nancy Nystrom

Nancy Walling Nystrom, born during World War II (when women were expected to find their calling in the home), grew up in the Heights of Houston. She was raised by her Christian grandparents from the age of 6 months, after the death of her father. During her adolescent years the neighborhood church was a big part of her life. In her early adulthood she moved to Colorado to raise her family and continued to participate in helping establish and develop churches in the area…working with young people, teaching and helping develop music programs. When Nancy lost her son Freddy in 1994, she had an experience that would change her life, her direction, and in 1995 led her to establish a very special home for children in Manzanillo, Mexico called Casa Hogar Los Angelitos. A home for children from abandonment, abuse, and desperate situations.
