Biography of Sun Wei

Sun Wei is a Tai Chi instructor and educator deeply committed to making movement accessible, gentle, and meaningful for everyone, especially seniors and people with mobility challenges.

Her path began not in a studio, but at home. When her parents started experiencing physical limitations, Sun Wei chose to be present for them every day, supporting them through movement, patience, and care. Walking alongside them, she learned firsthand how important it is to adapt exercises to real bodies, real needs, and real lives.

This personal experience shaped her teaching philosophy. Sun Wei believes that Tai Chi should never be about performance or perfection, but about listening to the body, moving with kindness, and progressing slowly and safely. Her approach is calm, compassionate, and deeply respectful of each individual’s rhythm.

Through her books and videos, Sun Wei shares not only techniques, but a way of caring — offering a gentle beginning for those who may feel fragile, hesitant, or excluded from traditional practices. Her work is guided by experience, empathy, and a sincere desire to help others live with greater balance, dignity, and well-being.
