Igor Karnovsky

Igor Karnovsky is a Professor and Doctor of Technical Sciences specializing in applied mathematics and structural dynamics. He is the author of several influential books on structural dynamics and structural analysis, published by McGraw-Hill and Springer between 2001 and 2021, including a volume translated into Chinese as part of a national scientific and technological program.

Over the course of his academic career, he has taught and lectured at universities in Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Estonia, Israel, and Canada, and is listed in the encyclopedia Five Thousand Personalities of the World (6th edition, 1998).

Origins and the Book of Forms: A Journey Through Time, Ideas, and Light, co-authored with Olga Lebed, continues his long-standing interest in remarkable ideas and the history of geometry. The book brings together the authors’ pedagogical experience, their admiration for ancient thinkers, and a shared desire to introduce young readers to the great names and achievements of classical science.
