David Jeffrey Miller

David J. Miller is a dedicated Pastoral and Christian Life Coach and Counselor whose work centers on helping men, women and couples build secure, Christ-centered relationships that reflect God's design for marriage. He holds multiple advanced degrees from Liberty University, including a B.S. in Biblical Studies, M.A. in Pastoral Counseling, M.A. in Executive Leadership, and M.A. in Religious Education (M.R.E.).

With deep expertise in biblical truth, relational dynamics, and emotional healing, David draws from both Scripture and practical insights to guide dismissive-avoidant husbands toward breaking free from emotional distance. His own journey—experiencing God's transforming faithfulness, healing, and restoring power in his marriage to the love of his life, Marlena—inspired him to write Secure in Christ: How Dismissive-Avoidant Husbands Can Break Free from Emotional Distance and Build the Intimate, God-Honoring Marriage They've Always Wanted. This book serves as a heartfelt testament to what God can accomplish when husbands surrender their patterns to Him.

Beyond counseling, David (United States Coast Guard Veteran) brings over 17 years of progressive federal experience in senior management consulting, strategy, portfolio management, IT governance, financial oversight, and performance improvement across agencies including the DoD, DHS, HHS, FBI, and State Department.

Over the years, he has counseled men, veterans and couples in addition to advising senior federal executives and stakeholders on complex modernization, policy, and technical challenges that have helped him develop the skills that reinforce his structured, practical approach to individual growth, relational growth and healing.

David is passionate about equipping men to lead their marriages with strength, vulnerability, and biblical manhood. He resides in Virginia with his wife Marlena and continues to counsel men and couples toward deeper intimacy with God and one another. Connect with him to learn more about his work and resources.
