Leander Chamberlain

Leander grew up on the beautiful island of Guernsey and now lives in Kent with his wife and daughter. His home island continues to inspire much of his writing.

His writing journey began during the 2020 lockdown, when he taught a creative writing lesson for the children of key workers. To engage the children, he wrote a short story, the first of many that would eventually become his debut collection, Guernsey Tales, and later inspire his first chapter book, The Witch Hunt.

Leander is passionate about teaching children the importance of caring for our planet, which led to his three-part series, Save Our Planet. These rhyming picture books are written for younger readers and aim to spark early conversations about environmental responsibility.

After the birth of his daughter, Leander wanted to share stories of his home island and the creatures that live there. His Gregory the Guernsey Teddy series introduces young readers to puffins, Guernsey goats, and crabs, with more books and new animal friends planned for the future.
