E.K. Mercer

E.K. Mercer is interested in the people who were never asked what they thought.

They write historical fiction, science fiction, and dystopian fiction—all of it about ordinary human beings making hard decisions in circumstances that were never designed to include them. Their novels move between occupied territories and surveillance states, between buried histories and invented futures, asking the same question each time: what do people owe each other when the system owes them nothing?

Readers of Kazuo Ishiguro, Emily St. John Mandel, and Omar El Akkad will find familiar ground here and less familiar ground just beneath it.
