Daniel Gozo is a seasoned finance executive with more than thirty-five years of experience across industries including mining, insurance, engineering, FMCG, sugar, tobacco, and higher education. Deeply interested in the human side of success, his writing uses storytelling to explore wealth, resilience, and long-term decision-making.
After decades of observing markets - from exuberance to crisis and recovery - Daniel recognised a recurring truth: success is rarely linear. Those who endure are often the ones who prepare early, adapt quietly, and act with foresight. This insight led him to the biblical figures of Joseph and Noah, two individuals united by their ability to recognise turning points before others did.
Using these archetypes, Daniel frames modern stories of people navigating uncertainty and transforming their fortunes through timing, discipline, and preparation.
Daniel spent twenty years as a trustee of a large retirement fund, helping steer capital through the 2008 global financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic. He holds a master’s degree in commerce, is a CIMA and CGMA, and currently serves as Director of Finance at Wits University. He enjoys hiking, rucking, and playing tennis. He lives between Johannesburg and Cape Town with his wife.
