Amit Dasgupta

Writer of quiet, observational fiction about the lives people live within.

I write about the lives people live quietly—the expectations they carry, the roles they grow into, and the ones they never chose but learn to inhabit.

My stories begin in small, almost unnoticed moments—pauses in conversations, lingering glances, silences that say more than words. I am drawn to what is left unsaid, and I try to write with restraint, letting emotion surface on its own rather than forcing it.

Born in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, and now based in Bengaluru, I balance a demanding professional life with my work as a writer. I spend a lot of time observing—people, routines, fleeting interactions—and slowly shaping those observations into stories that stay with the reader, often long after they’ve finished reading.
