Stephan May

Stephan May lives with his family between Germany and Portugal. As a father of six children, storytelling is not just a literary pursuit for him, but part of everyday life — in conversations, on journeys, and in the quiet moments in between.

He previously explored themes of family and fatherhood as a co-author of the book From Man to Father (Vom Mann zum Vater). In collaboration with illustrator Thilo Krapp, he created two comic adventures in which image and text formed a shared narrative world.

He is involved in local cultural initiatives in his hometown and supports the independent comic project Finix as an investor.

In parallel, he works musically under the project SINPURE, where stories become songs — sometimes loud, sometimes quiet.

When Berry Was Here (Berry war da) grew out of one of those quiet moments.
