Mark is a paediatric occupational therapist, former primary school teacher, and children's author with a passion for helping children grow up with kindness, empathy, and curiosity. Through his work with children and their families, he has seen the power that stories can have to allow simple, gentle conversations that can shape the way children understand themselves and the world around them.
His debut picture book, Kind to All Kinds, was inspired by a desire to help children connect with animals through their shared emotions and experiences. Rather than telling children what to think, Mark hopes to encourage thoughtful conversations that help families explore compassion and empathy together.
When he's not working with children, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, playing soccer, going to the beach or on a hike through a national park, or playing with his dog, Dory.
