Dee Cawood

Dee Cawood (pronounced KAY-wood) has always loved words—silly ones, long ones, and especially those that spark beauty, curiosity, and new ideas. She is passionate about writing stories, lyrics, and discipleship material that aim to be the guiding hand she wished for as a young Christian.

To Dee, writing is much like sculpting: starting with a solid block of an idea and carefully chiseling it down. The work is complete when you’re covered in dust and sweat (and sometimes tears), standing before something even more vivid than the idea you first imagined. Through this process, she delights in crafting characters and narratives that reflect the rawness of life and wrestle with meaningful questions—stories that ultimately invite readers to notice what God is doing in the everyday moments of their lives.

Dee lives in South Africa, with her more-than-amazing husband and three more-than-hilarious kids. When she’s not writing, she can usually be found dreaming up a torrent of ideas, cooking up a storm, and drinking an impressive amount of herbal tea.
