Mark Whiteley

I'm a founding member of post-punk band Folk Devils with an enduring interest in helping folk out who may be struggling with addiction or the addictions of friends, family or colleagues. My book, Paying for the Party, is a no holds barred account of my final battle with drug and alcohol problems recounted in honest detail. My aim was to write the truth and, although a possibly harrowing book to read, it leaves no doubt that recovery and reconnection are possible for all.

Having been through the whole mill addiction can grind you with - health, loss, isolation, the reality of life on the streets and now a professional in the addiction field, I believe I've been able to document an account informed from both sides of the fence. Only the readers can judge.
