Cathy Griffin

Cathy is a short-term rental entrepreneur, marketing founder, and former healthcare leader who proves reinvention has no age limit.

In 2019, at sixty years old, Cathy’s corporate nursing career ended abruptly, and a ten-year relationship closed at the same time. With no plan B, she found herself starting over in Fairhope, Alabama, with only faith, grit, and a house that suddenly felt too big and too quiet.

Rather than panic, she paused. Cathy studied mindset, reflected on what she truly wanted, and made a clear decision. She would never rely on someone else’s paycheck again. She relocated to Pensacola, Florida and bought a home designed to pay its own way, a colorful, historic shotgun style Boho property on the edge of downtown, filled with art deco glass doors, sunshine, and possibility.

In 2020, she converted a small cottage suite at the back of the home into an Airbnb. As a former RN and healthcare administrator, caring for people had always been her strength, and she discovered that hospitality was simply that same care, delivered in a new setting. What began as one small suite became a full-time business built on thoughtful hosting, consistent standards, and a guest experience that feels personal.

By 2025, Cathy was personally co-hosting ten vacation rentals across Pensacola, Fairhope, and Gulf Shores, Alabama. That same year, she launched Book My Biz LLC, a marketing company dedicated to helping other hosts grow profitable, sustainable vacation rental businesses.

Cathy is passionate about showing women that they can rebuild at any stage of life. You do not have to live someone else’s dream or work that hard for someone else’s success. You can build your own economy, on your own terms. Having faced deep personal struggles, including homelessness, she now lives with a steady belief that we can change by choice, not by circumstance.

Cathy lives in Pensacola. Her oldest son and his family are in Toronto, her daughter is in Jacksonville, and her horse Rebel is nearby in Fairhope. She carries the memory of her youngest son, David, every day.
