Birgit Maria Stubner

Birgit Maria Stubner writes about the transition of young people with ADHD or AuDHD and autistic young people from school into vocational training, university and work. Her aim is to connect areas that usually run side by side, namely school, family, therapy and counselling, training and the world of work. She has been a state-certified occupational therapist since 1988 and earned her Magister degree (M.A.) in sociology, psychology and education in 2000. Her path has taken her through practice, research, counselling and teaching at vocational schools and universities. Today she supports young people and their families through mentoring and coaching. Her professional view is shaped by her experience as a relative in a neurodivergent family. She first asks how a person, their environment and their everyday activities fit together. To her, neurodivergence is not a disorder but diversity that needs the right context. She lives and works in Nuremberg, Germany.
